Course details

Today’s industry is littered by increasingly difficult decisions, as a multitude of different input variables from organisational, technical and human viewpoints must be considered. The situation is further complicated by fast changing organisation and decisions contexts.

In FAIRWork, we tackle this problem by researching and designing a decentralised and flexible decision support system, called Democratic AI-based Decision Support System (DAI-DSS). In this webinar we will introduce our final prototype of the DAI-DSS, providing a framework for configurable and AI-based decision support. The framework consists of five building blocks, which can take on various forms, but work together towards finding solutions to complex decisions.

In short, the building blocks are:

  • AI Enrichment: A collection of decision services, which can be adapted and orchestrated to solve varying problems.
  • Knowledge Base: A data lake consolidating data from varying sources, like digital twins (from machines and humans), existing information systems, user provided data and even results of the DAI-DSS.
  • User Interface: A framework where tailored user interfaces can be created through configuration, providing data to and gather them from users.
  • Configurator: A set of tools and methods supporting the understanding of decision scenarios and configuring the DAI-DSS to provide support for these scenarios.
  • Orchestrator: At the heart sits the orchestrator which contains the logic of how a solution for a specific decision can be created and then executes this logic by coordinating the other building blocks and providing the result to the users.
